Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
Welcome back to all our families and staff. I hope that you have all managed to have a well deserved break over Christmas and stayed well.
This week the children have all settled in well and were full of all the lovely things that happened to them over the holidays. It certainly sounds action packed!
This week we have focussed on getting back into the routine of school. As always please monitor the website for letters, updates and diary dates as we begin the new term and don’t forget to order next week’s lunches by Sunday each week to ensure your order goes through!
As we are now getting into what is traditionally our coldest part of the year and inevitably more coughs and colds appear, we know how hard it is to make the decision whether or not to send your child into school. Attendance at school is vital for children’s learning but also their development into well rounded individuals. Please see the link below from the UK Health Security Agency which gives some guidance on some of the most common questions all parents have. Please be assured that if we are at all concerned we will always contact you about your child. If you have any worries or are unsure then please call the office, or contact Mrs Webster who can assist you. Guidance on when to send children to school if ill
Volunteers: We routinely will send out messages to parents in classes to request volunteers to accompany the children for instance if they are going to the library. Parent volunteers are a key part of making all our trips safe and fun for our children. Volunteers do not have to just be a parent, grandparents or family friends are very welcome too! Please just speak to the office and we will be happy to register them. With that in mind we are still seeking volunteers for Farthing Wood class trip to the Library on Friday 12 and 19 January if anyone can spare the time! Please let us know if you can help.
Reminders/Dates for the Diary

Coats: Please provide your child with a warm waterproof coat. This time of the year it is very very cold and often wet. Please help us to keep your child warm and well by making sure they bring in a warm coat to wear outside as we do go out at every opportunity.
