Head of School update

This week at school….

We are celebrating the end of term and the end of the academic year!

What a hot week we have had!  The children have all coped really well, and we were able to navigate through the heatwave without completely melting away – though it was a close call! Adopting a more “mediterranean” approach by staying in during the lunch times and going out early and later worked really well and the children were very resilient.

This week we saw the Year 2 performance delivered to our parents and then children and parents walked through a guard of honour by our Junior School children and staff to welcome them to the Juniors.  This was followed by a welcome assembly and the current Year 3 class sang a song for the Year 2’s.  There were a few misty eyes but the children did a fantastic job of presenting the “2042 reunion”.  Well done to everyone!

Thursday during the morning the year 6’s presented a full dress rehearsal of their leavers play to the Infant and Junior schools.  In the evening they did the full performance in front of their parents and guests and there was definitely a lump in many throats as they performed an emotional final song!  This afternoon we will see them in their very final leavers assembly.  We would like to wish them all our very best for their future and we will miss them all.

Movers and shakers:  We are saying goodbye and welcome to a number of staff at the end of this academic year and I am sure you will join me and all the staff of the schools in wishing them heartfelt thanks for their service for those that are moving on and a very warm welcome for our new staff.

PTFA UPDATE – We really cannot express enough how thankful we are for the support we have had from everyone. We have a super year lined up but in the meantime enjoy the summer holidays and a well deserved rest. From us all on the PTFA Committee.

P.S. Don’t forget it’s Freezer Friday Today (22nd) as it’s the last day of term. So grab your pound coins and come and find us in the infant school playground. Not only will you enjoy delicious ice cream, but you will also support our school.

All that remains is to wish you and your family all the best for a brilliant summer break and we look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 6th September!
