Head of School Update

And breathe………!

We are very proud of our children this week.  Especially our Year 6 class who have worked so hard to prepare for their SATs and for being focussed and determined throughout the week.  They have shown enormous resilience and they all did themselves proud.  To the parents and families supporting all of our children, thank you – you can now relax!  Friday has seen the year 6 team enjoying some well deserved fun and celebration of this milestone in their learning career.  Check out the updates to see what was in store!

Next week sees us support our Year 2 class as they sit their SATs and we will be there to support all the children and parents again.  The Year 2 children are not informed they are sitting SATs tests. Miss Carman has a puppet, Olivier Tootington, who brings the children a special mission each morning. The children have worked super hard and we are confident they will do their very best.

Thursday will see us welcoming a couple of our local Police officers into school to speak to the children and meet them all.  This is part of local community policing and to give children a chance to ask questions too!

There are a number of letters this week as we count down to the Jubilee Celebrations, plus upcoming events in Year 3, Orienteering and Wildtouch visiting the school; plus a trip for the summer term for our Reception class.  As always check out the letters on the website or check your inbox.

My School Fund: We have signed up to participate in this initiative that combines the spending power of all of us to try and boost our school budget and provide extra facilities for our children.  Please see the leaflet coming home tonight. We would be grateful if you spread the word to friends and family too!  In return you will benefit through an innovative cashback scheme.

School Lunches:  We will be asking for your cooperation adhering to the process for booking.  Please see the letter being sent out.

Mammoth Marathon: I am sure everyone is aware that this Sunday the Mammoth Marathon will be running straight through our village!  The start line for the half marathon is at the beach front and the race is due to begin at 9:30am.  There is lots of information available on social media and on the Parish Council site.  There will be road closures in place, so please take note.  It’s the first time we have had an event such as this take place and it’s certainly worth a visit!  If any sporty parents/family members are taking part, please let us know – we would love to hear from you about your experience!

PTFA NEWS: Last chance to buy your Jubilee Tea Towels decorated by all the children.  To make a purchase please log onto the school money system – Eduspot – closing date for all orders is TODAY – Friday 13 May.

Masked Disco Friday 20 May: Tickets are on sale on the School Money system.  Once you have made your purchase, your child will receive an entry ticket and their own Mask to decorate!  All funds raised by the PTFA go direct to our children providing extra curricular and/or educational items/experiences.

Well done year 6 and Good luck for next week Year 2!
