It has been another lovely week in Ruby Bridges Class.
In Phonics, Reception have been reading and writing CVCC words. Year 1s have been focusing on all the sounds they have learnt so far, and reading and writing words with all these sounds.
In Maths, Reception have been focusing on addition, using objects, numicon, part whole and a number line. Year 1s have recapped on equal and unequal groups, looking at doubles and learning how to make groups.
In English, Reception have started reading the story ‘On Sudden Hill’ and we’ve been fantastic at thinking of new words. Year 1s have started to draw their own story maps for their version of ‘Way Back Home’.
In Topic we have been concentrating on maps and transport that we use around the World.
A few reminders– PE remains on Wednesday, your child needs to bring in their water bottle and book bag (with reading books inside) every day. As the weather gets warmer please apply sunscreen before school and send your child in with a named hat, not sunglasses. Many thanks.
