We’ve had another fabulous week in Ruby Bridges Class.
In Phonics, Reception have been reading and writing words and sentences with the ‘ear’ and ‘ure’ sounds in (Tricky witch sounds). Year 1s have learnt the wh, the o (long ) and the e (long E) graphemes.
In Maths, Reception have moved onto learning how to half and share numbers. Year 1s have been recapping on equal and unequal groups and learning about arrays, we have also recapped on doubles. Please practise counting in the pattern of 2s. 5s and 10s.
In English Reception are continuing with the story ‘Ruby’s Worry’. Our sentences so far are ; Ruby was shaking nervously and she felt on edge. She tried to sprint away but her worry chased her. Ruby’s worry had become huge and humungous. Ruby talked softly “don’t worry, you can talk to me”. Year 1s have continued with the story ‘The Way Back Home” (see photos for their sentence stackers so far).
In Topic we are continuing to learn about Mundesley and where it is in the UK. We spent time learning about the main landmarks in London.
In PE we concentrated on the final part to our dance and we worked really hard to put it to music.
On Friday we planted our sunflower seeds ready for the school Sunflower competition. It has been another lovely week.
