We have had another amazing week here in Obama Class!
In our Topic we have created skylines of modern London. We used sponging as a painting technique to create a sunset, then we looked at 2D shapes we could see in London Landmarks.
In English we have continued sentence stacking plot points in our adventure narrative focussing on the lenses of repetition, feeling and noticing adjectives, along with similes, conjunctions and dialogue.
In Maths Yr 1 have continued to look at multiplication as repeated addition of equal groups. We then moved on to look at showing multiplication as arrays, introducing the vocabulary or rows and columns. Year 2 have continued to look at division and have been introduced to the division symbol. They have used the method of grouping to find the answers using equipment and also diagrams. We have begun to notice the connection between our times tables and division!
In phonics Year 1 have recapped green froggy ‘ee’ and ‘ea’, the silent ghost ‘ea’ and Tricky Witch’s ‘er’; Year 2 have recapped ‘le’. The class have thoroughly enjoyed reading Nursery Rhymes in our Guided Reading, if you have any that you remember please share them with your child as they can’t believe that they are so old!
