Welcome to Michelle Obama Class
Welcome to Michelle Obama Class! We are a group of 28 Year 1's and Year 2's full of curiosity and creativeness about the world around us. We work with our teacher Mrs Duffield and we're really lucky to have both Mrs Payne and Mrs Howard helping us in class during the week.
This year, our class is named after Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama became the first African American First Lady of the United States of American when her husband became the 44th president of America. Michelle worked hard to become a lawyer and she has been determined to use her experience to show that everyone can change their future and improve their education. Just like Michelle, we know that if we think and work hard our brains will grow and we can become anything we want when we are older!
What are we learning about this term?
This term our Topic is London Calling, where we will be using our geographical skills to find where London is; our historical skills to investigate the Great Fire of London and how London was changed. In our English we will be writing an adventure narrative based upon Oliver Jeffers, The Way Back Home and also a biography of Samuel Pepys.
The best things are Maths, playing with my friends and seeing everybody. I like rolling the dice and finding numbers in Maths games and home corner. I like it when my teachers tell me I've made a mistake because it helps me know I've got to do it a little bit more.
I like writing in English. I like the monsters in Monster Phonics. I like it when my teachers talk to me.
I love our outside area and our choosing activities, playing with my friends, English, and everything. I love Monster Phonics and their wordsearches. I like it when my teachers help me when I'm struggling.
