We have had another fantastic week in Year 2! Miss Carman’s socks have been ‘blown off’ by the children’s brilliant sentence writing this week! The children have taken the vocabulary they have learnt from the story and collected together as a class and used the words to write captions for some pictures from ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’.
In maths, we have been counting in 2s, 5s, 10s and even 3s. It would be great if you could practice these at home!
This week we started our science unit: ‘Everyday Materials’. We have identified some different materials including wood, plastic, metal, glass, water and rock, and started to describe their properties. See if you could use some of the fantastic describing words (adjectives) you have learnt to describe some materials at home.
Children need to come to school in their PE kit on Thursdays. This includes a t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms, a jumper, socks and trainers (we will be doing PE outside- and it’s getting rather chilly now!)
