Jemison Class update

The children have had such great attitudes to learning independently both during their JONK time (joy of not knowing!) and at home. Lots of them are keen to bring in their writing or number practise to show the teachers in the morning and take great pride in their achievement, earning them a Mundesley Merit on the way! We are always happy to see a love of learning and them wanting to make their brains bigger. In English we have been continuing with our recipe looking at imperative verbs. I told the children it’s the only time they’re allowed to be BOSSY BOSSY BOSSY BOSSY!! Unsurprisingly they have really enjoyed this! We’ve progressed rapidly in maths with some people starting to draw their own number line to add. We’ve also learnt mental maths methods such as holding the biggest number in our head and counting on using our fingers for support. We will continue with this at any opportunity to embed it in our brains as it’s a great strategy we can use even as an adult. In topic this week we have been learning about where our food comes from, the different food groups and what makes a ‘healthy meal’. And we’ve even started learning some Christmas songs in preparation for our Nativity, you may have heard some of these at home already…
