This week there was much excitement, mixed with some nervousness, when Georgina came in and did some henna designs on the children’s hands! Have a look at the photos and you will see the range of designs the children could choose from. In topic we have been learning about Rangoli patterns. First we did some learning about different line shapes and thicknesses, then we filled in given Rangoli patterns with coloured rice – which were beautiful and so carefully done! After that we all designed our own Rangoli patterns in our sketch books. We’ve started focusing on a new book in English called Ganesha’s Sweet Tooth, all about the Hindu God – Ganesha. In maths we have been learning about the ‘greater than’ and ‘less than’ symbol, as well as the equals (the same as). Ask the children which number the hungry alligator eats?? They might even sing a song for you!
