Head of School Update 6th May

It’s been a very short week!

This week has seen us enjoy lots of lovely outdoor time and continue our preparations for SATs.  The children have all been working well and are enjoying their new topics particularly.  Check out the class updates for more information.

This term also sees a number of events taking place.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee:  Don’t forget to complete the survey for attendance on the parents event on Thursday 26 May.  The children are beginning to get excited (and so are we) to welcome parents back into school!

Year 6 SATs: Next week our Year 6 children will be sitting their SATs.  We did a mini dry run on Thursday this week and the children all did very well.  We know all the children will do their very best and wish them all luck.  Lastly don’t forget all Year 6 children are invited in for breakfast at 8:30am Monday to Thursday next week.  We look forward to seeing them.

Sports Equipment for Schools: Our local newspapers are again running their campaign to provide sports equipment to Norfolk Schools.  By collecting daily and weekly tokens from local papers, primary schools across the region will have the chance to win a share of sports equipment.  If you are able to help us by collecting tokens here are the newspapers that will be printing them:  Eastern Daily Press (EDP), Norwich Evening News, North Norfolk News, Dereham Times, Fakenham Times, Beccles & Bungay Journal, Lowestoft Journal and Great Yarmouth Mercury.  The first tokens will appear on Monday May 9 with the final token on Saturday July 16.  All tokens can be left at either the Infant or Junior School Offices.

Design a Stamp from Mundesley Parish Council Jubilee Celebrations – We are sending home a Platinum Jubilee competition for children aged 6 – 12 Years from the Parish Council. All designs must be completed by 1 June and either sent to the Parish Council or to the School offices.  Good luck everyone.

PTFA NEWS: The PTFA will be supporting our Jubilee celebrations by selling commemorative Jubilee Tea Towels decorated by all the children.  To make a purchase please log onto the school money system – Eduspot – closing date for all orders is TODAY – Friday 6 May.

Masked Disco Friday 20 May: Tickets are on sale on the School Money system.  Once you have made your purchase, your child will receive an entry ticket and their own Mask to decorate!  All funds raised by the PTFA go direct to our children providing extra curricular and/or educational items/experiences.

Have a great week everyone!
