Bumblebee Class update

Our English book has been our first non-fiction text: Africa: Amazing Africa by Antiuke. We have been amazed at the size of the continent, the various landscapes, the different animals that live there and the mega mammoth cities people live in alongside shantytowns and mud huts.
Our Topic has explored how we get to Kenya, where Africa is and where Kenya is within the continent of Africa, we looked at the Kenyan flag, the capital of Nairobi and the weather.
In Maths we have continued our work on grouping and sharing, using the stem sentences, ‘XX shared equally between XX is equal to XX groups of XX are equal to XX ‘.
In phonics we are blending CCVC (consonant, consonant, vowel, consonant) words. We have had some really tricky consonant blends such as ‘st’, in stop, ‘sp’ in spot and ‘tr’ in trap.

The children have continued to enjoy our Rainbow Challenges and some children have managed to double their House Points by completing all 6 challenges!

On Monday we will have PE outside, if it’s sunny please remember to send a hat and slap on lots of suncream.
Have a wonderful weekend.
