Bumblebee Class weekly update

We’ve had such an exciting week in Bumblebee Class! We’ve been on our second minibus trip around the village looking at different buildings and we have loved looking at pictures of our houses and sharing them with the Class. We’ve also been bird spotting as part of the RSPB Schools Bird watching weekend. In maths we began the week looking at capacity – what objects could fit inside other objects and how we can measure capacity. We just had to have a go at making playdough to see if we could measure! We then moved on to the numbers 6, 7, 8 and had challenges to make these numbers in different ways- on dominoes and ladybirds. In English we have been reading the book On Sudden Hill and Grandma Fantastic has introduced us to some amazing action, noticing and feeling words which we have begun to use in sentences. Our grapheme this week in phonics has been the Black Cat digraph ‘ur’. In Topic we have been looking a lots of different maps and had a go at drawing maps of our classroom, our route to school and even the route of our minibus trip! I think you’ll definitely agree that it’s been busy and exciting!
