Attenborough Class update

We’ve had two firsts this week in Attenborough Class . We had our first PE lesson in the hall which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We practised moving in different ways and listening to instructions and playing different games with our ‘sticky spot’. Our second first was cooking. The children had to weigh out all of the ingredients to make their very own Gingerbread Man as part of our story in English. The children then had to design their own Gingerbread man and then create it using icing and Jelly tots! We sat together and listened to the story and ate them just like the cunning, sly fox. They were delicious!
In maths we have continued to investigate how numbers to 5 are made – this week we learnt that if we know how many objects there are we can work out how many we can see and how many are hidden – if we have 5 cubes altogether and I have three in my hand how many are hiding in the bucket? This is a really fun game to play at home together!
In Phonics we have been introduced to Green Froggy ‘ee’ and creating lots of ‘ee’ words using different media – paint, stickers, pens etc.
In Topic we have been looking at the word identity and creating self portraits using colour mixing skills. We would love the children to bring in a photo of their home so that we can have an interactive display within the Classroom. These can be emailed to me or the office. Everyone has been really excited to tell us about their homes and who belongs in them. We have learnt that all families are different and this is part of our identity and our sense of belonging.
We love to see what adventures your child gets up to at home – clubs they attend , baking, reading, making dens, being creative, going on nature walks. Tapestry is a wonderful place to share these with us and the class – please upload your photos and a brief description so we can share these together during circle time.
