Attenborough Class update

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a fantastic holiday and it has been lovely to see everyone back this week and last.
What an amazing start to the New Year Attenborough class have had! They have truly amazed me with their knowledge of phonics and maths.
In Phonics we have learnt two new digraphs Tricky Witch ‘oo’ as in look and Brown Owl ow. We have really enjoyed creating our own flashcards using the colours of the monsters.
We have started reading a new story in English – The Gingerbread Man, and the children have begun drawing their own versions and telling their story to an adult. Next week we will act them out!
In Maths we have recapped one less with numbers to 5, spotting zero and the composition of numbers to 5. The children have been fantastic at knowing what numbers together make up the number five.
We have begun our new Topic – People – this week we have been looking at who we are and who is in our family. The children had great fun drawing their families outside with chalk – you may have seen them!
Please remember that we start PE on Monday next week and will expect children to come into School wearing their PE kit.
We love to see what adventures your child gets up to at home – clubs they attend , baking, reading, making dens, being creative, going on nature walks. Tapestry is a wonderful place to share these with us and the class – please upload your photos and a brief description so we can share these together during circle time.
