Orangutan Class have been learning all about people who help us. We learnt lots about firefighters and we were lucky enough to visit Mundesley Fire Station. We were shown around the fire station and we learnt all about the equipment that is kept on the engines. We all got to sit inside the fire engine, dress up in the protective clothing and use the hose. It was a fantastic morning; we learnt lots of new facts and had lots of fun.
On Tuesday 23rd July we turned the hall into an ice-cream parlour! We used some of our attendance money to buy lots of different flavours and toppings. It was delicious!
On Tuesday 2nd July, Gravett and Willis classes visited Norwich to see the Tudor buildings as part of their topic around The Great Fire of London. They spotted some of the key features of the buildings, spent some time sketching them and learned about the Paston family.
The children enjoyed some of their learning coming to life in real buildings and were beautifully behaved. Mundesley Infant school are lucky to have such sensible children who grabbed this learning experience with both hands!
On Wednesday 26th June Year 1 visited The Royal Norfolk Show for the first time. The children loved learning about the broads, farming, collecting hundreds of stickers and petting the lambs and piglets. We couldn’t believe how big some of the cows were who were taking part in competitions!
Thank you to all of the adults and our families who came with us, we had a lovely day.
Did you know….
Over 20,000 tonnes of batteries end up in landfill sites – that’s as heavy as 4,000 elephants!
Last term the school council set the children a challenge to collect up as many used batteries as they could. Everyone did an amazing job, some even speaking to local shops and businesses to help.
On Friday 26th April the school council spent the morning counting up everyone’s batteries. The infant and junior children collected a total of 6742!! Well done everyone. Please keep collecting and pop them in our recycling battery containers in the front offices.
The school council visted Pizza Express in Norwich and got to become chefs for the morning. They learned all about how pizzas are made, where the ingredients come from and some secrets for how to make the best pizza. They had a great time and got to bring their yummy creations back to school to enjoy.
Year 2 in both Mundesley Infants and Bacton Primary spent the afternoon at Cromer Academy, taking part in a tro-golf event. They had a great time practising their golfing skills and taking part in a competition.
While the schools didn’t win, they all tried their best, showed great sportsmanship and supported each other through the event. Well done Year 2, you did us very proud!
2018 was the year of ‘Lights, Camel, ACTION!’ The children put on a fantastic show of tango dancing inn-keepers, funky camels and disco stars. They did an amazing job and we are very proud of how well they worked together.
