Ruby Bridges class weekly update w/e 18/12/2020

What a fantastic last week. Your children have been amazing. In Phonics we have learnt the ‘oo’ sound (food, pool, cool, moon) and used the sound to write sentences linked to the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. In Maths we have been ordering the days of the week, learning the months of the year and practising writing numbers 0-10. In Topic we have been learning about the Christmas story and also talking about how Christmas is celebrated in other Countries. Year 1s have been comparing two number sentences to work out which is more than, less than or equal to. They have also worked really hard to recognise and use the split digraphs; a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e and u-e. We have also had lots of fun crafting, making and enjoying the lead up to Christmas. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Virtual Pantomime on Wednesday.

We hope you have a great break with your family and we look forward to seeing you in 2021!
